#510, "update to GIFTED TESTING.....HELP!!??!!??!!??"

so they tested her today! that was fast.
They said right now she is not getting in (which I am totally ok with) but they want to test her again next year.

They used the KBIT2 test????
I search on google and can not for the life of me figure it out.
The form was in her book bag so I did not get to discuss it with the teacher.
it says....

Raw score
verbal knowledge Riddles VERBAL standard score
22 + 15 = 37 ---- 98
Matrices Nonverbal
32 = 32 -------126
sum of standard scores
IQ composite -----224 ---114

so from what i understand.....
Verbal= 45th percentile (much lower then I expected but right in the middle of average)
Non Verbal = 96th % (MUCH MUCH MUCH higher then I expected)

put them together and we have 82nd%

so the lowest score they said you can get is 115 to get in and she is at 114
IFFFFF I am reading that right

does that make sense to anyone??

The test is Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test, Second Edition (KBIT-2). This isn't indepth testing, but a quick way to gauge verbal and non-verbal intelligence. Your school should have information on the admissions specifics.

Our school screens for gifted, and then does 4 different standardized tests which take about 4 hours to complete. A student has to score at or above the 95th percentile in each test to qualify.
