We always bite the bullet and buy the kids the Thermos "sippies" for their lunches. They keep ice cubes for 12 hours and being in Florida that is important. Ours last about a year before we break something, but it is worth it!

Target clearances them with the back to school items. If you can be patient for a few weeks you can get a bargain. Last year I bought the food jar and drink bottles for 75% off.

OMG that would be so awesome. $15 x 3 for drink canisters is painful. I still do it, but it is painful!

I just bought Crayola thermoses and warm food jars and sandwich containers for about $13 per kid. I don't know who makes them, I think it is thermos...they are cute and it has already been dropped about 10 times and still not broken. Got them at Walmart

I was just looking at my 5 Thermos Funtainers with broken lids. I did not want to buy new ones so I emailed Thermos. You can get replacement lids for $2.00 each through customer service! I must say that I am quite pleased with myself...

Just thought I would let you know in case you have experienced the lid breaking off!

I found three pink ones at Target for about $6 each. I have used the warmed food jars with my older boys and it saved me TONS of $$$$ plus they eat their lunch. I just microwave them in the morning and pop the lids on. It's so easy and I can dish them up the night before.

I'm going to have to make lots of leftovers this year to send 5 hot lunches to school, but it's still cheaper than having the kids buy school lunch.

Becky

PS - the ones I found have a spoon built into the lid...the girls love them and have had me put their lunches in them a couple of days so they could "practice" for first grade.
