#93, "birthday party invitation?"
Fri Nov-14-08 04:04 PM by PAO123

Boys received party invitations this week to a party tomorrow. Does it bother anyone else when the invitation has a note in it like the following: Money Tree: a great gift

They are asking for $$ right?

I think they are asking for $$. In my opinion that is rude.I just couldnt imagine putting that in an invitation.

I read the statement again-maybe they are going to donate the $$. I would ask..Let us know.

OMG...if they are requesting money that is just totally tacky!!!! It's tacky to hint to ANY gift IMHO. Unless it's to donate a gift or money to charity in leu of a gift.

I got one similar... boys received an invitation requesting either $$ or Gameboys DS games ONLY (listing the games they wanted - about 15 of em!) ... I did a TRU giftcard - best I could muster.

OMG I am glad I have never seen that! I can't imagine ever having that much gall.

But then I pissed a bunch of parents off this year because I didn't tell them it was a birthday party their kids were invited to and they hadn't brought gifts. Duh, that is WHY I didn't tell you. I don't see what the big deal was because we didn't have a cake or open gifts at the party. It was a totally alternative carnival party. Nobody would have known it was a birthday party if Grandma hadn't opened her big mouth.
