#16, "Triplets are a commin!"

I went to the IVF doctor with my daughter for her first ultra sound and pregnancy confirmation, as her husband could not get off work.
We knew she was pregnant we just did't know that we were going to get triplets! The IVF doctor started saying YIKES, YIKES, and I asked him what that meant. He said one egg split and became identical twins, and the other fraternal had taken also. Wow! We were pretty stunned, but my daughter took it really well and so did her husband. The really good news is that the identicals are in their own little bags, and maybe have their own placentas. School is still out on the placentas, but we are now 17 weeks along and so far everyone is doing well, except my daughter, who is sick with heartburn all the time. That seems to go with the territory we are told. We are very excited now that it seems real to us. We pray for a good outcome, and in the meantime, we are looking at strollers for three. We have checked out the runabout, which my daughter and her hubby really like, but it doesn't look infant friendly. Is that a good place to start, or should be thinking pram, infant seat, or what? She likes the Britax car seat as it can be converted to the child seat and turned around later. Any ideas?? Help??

My DD got a peg. I thought it very cumbersome to push (turn) and she would have to take it apart and put it together when we got to where we were going. Of course I wasn't doing the majority of the pushing and taking in and out! She did go out alone a lot and took them for walks everyday so it worked for them and that is what counts!

Congratulations!

I (we, daughter & I) have heard that the Peg is cumbersome, heavy. It is the most attractive for sure, and looks baby comfortable.
My daughter is just struggling with how to get around with three out of the door. It would be nice if doorways were a little wider huh? We hear that the in-line works best for going down isles, etc.
My daughter is very athletic, and I know she will want to take the tribe out and about later on. I will let her work it out. She likes the Peg and the run-about. Also the mountain buggy. All these decisions. We had a doctor appt. yesterday and so far so good at 17 weeks. We have the big three hour scan in two weeks and we will know for sure if we have three boys. My husband & I are very excited and hope that we will be able to help. I love this forum as I have already learned so much from the Mom's.

It is exciting! I happened to go with her for her 14-15 week appointment and they did an ultra sound. I thought at the time they were all boys but didn't say anything. She went a few weeks later for the big one, and they were! Just don't buy a lot of preemie stuff. They found the peg on the forum and got it used. One thing you can encourage them to do is look into Aflack insurance. It was one bit of advice I offered them and really paid off.
